It's very common. Almost half the patients I met in Beijing were girls.
Unfortunately girls who use message boards are pretty uncommon.

The girls you met in Beijing, had you tried to ask them why they wanted to do LL? I believe modeling as career is one of the reasons.

The most common reason was that they felt infantilized by society and wanted to be taken more seriously. Only two actually had modeling aspirations.
