These "exercises" aside are there really any alternatives that might give a couple of centimetres? I heard crazy stories about how sumo wrestlers used to get silicone implants under their scalps to meet the height requirements, I know this is also used as a treatment for some patients with skull fractures. I believe there was a clinic in Spain that offered the scalp implant but mainly for women applying for air-stewarding jobs that had a minimum height requirement. I also worry about the implant not only making someone look stupid, but the fact it might be able to precipitate hair loss, the risk of rupture and basically preventing doing any contact sports and indeed leakage of the implants so close to the brain and other important nerves and vessels in the head and neck region. It sounds totally bonkers.

I know there is a treatment used on the heels and pads on feet but this at best only adds less than a cm.

Of course my aim is for the LL surgery but I just wanted to check if there are any alternatives out there that could add a couple of cms in the short term (no pun intended) before LL.

BTW I'm not talking about things like inserts or special shoes etc.

Before growth plates close, HGH. After that it is just how much height you can maintain throughout the day with minimum spinal decompression.

The skull thing is real, in fact I almost did it but... the doctor says it's quite annoying to have it, and any strike can break it. For that reason, it's not used for cosmetic reason, but for jobs that demand height requirements. The feet pads things are a scam, a friend tried it and they don't work.

Doing that cosmetically is a braindead decision. Do you think anyone in real life cares about a 1cm difference? I think not.

It depends man, in my case all of this is not because of aesthetics, but because of an unhealthy obsession of getting 175 cm and not "failing". I understand most won't understand it as it is totally irrational, but I'm willing to risk eveything for it lol. I did consider the skull thing, and met the doctor, but it's not worth it. Again, the feet pads things is a huge scam. I also did lots of exercises and things... some of them worked but because I was 18 and my plates were not closed. Once they closed, nothing can be done. Last year I started doing inverted weighted sit ups, as some websites said this works.. I just got a bulging disk lol, please, don't try that

I understand, I also wanted to reach that 175cm mark and I was willing to get another operation for it but I have realised that 174cm is just as good or even 173cm it does not matter no more. Think about it, it is only 1cm lol, no one will ever know the difference.

Where were you thinking of doing the skull thing? If the health risks weren't so high heck I might have thought about, taking aesthetics into account of course. I think the maximum the surgeon in Spain recommended was 5cm.

Eye level for me, is what matters. Not top of head level. Don't want to look like megamind to be honest

The whole eye level thing is quite funny actually. Some people have a naturally taller forehead and if the face also appears long one might look taller than they are which is my case actually. Even though I was 164cm, with my longer face and taller forehead I pull off looking an inch taller and that was coming from a person standing at my height.

Well I've just done a search of this online. The closest thing to the scalp implant is a legit procedure known as a forehead augmentation which is quite popular in Asia and also there are clinics performing it here in the UK. It basically follows the same principal except on the forehead and not the scalp. That being said they outline the risks regarding trauma as well as increasing the risk of hair loss around the areas of the incision and slightly beyond that. So the scalp implant really isn't a great idea at all. That being said the original clinic in Spain that proposed this seemed to indicate it was only meant to be a temporary procedure and that patients would have the implant removed after their relevant assessments.

A 5cm implant on the skull as it would be more posteriorly wouldn't give the image of a weird shaped head as such but the risk of trauma on the skull and a ruptured implant leaking into a fractured skull is really both concerning and a little too scary to think about.
