Hey guys my doctor is going to make me wear a cast for 4 weeks after external TSF frame removal. Was wondering if this was usual?

Thanks

Never heard of it. Is it something that wraps around the leg like big bandage?

There's the need for a cast for example when tibial lenghtening makes Aquilles tendon surgery lengthening necessary.

It's common after external lengthening to have a cast or brace on the legs for about a month after frame removal. I was given leg braces to wear for about the same amount of time after frame removal as well http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=634.msg37519#msg37519

Oh okkk that makes sense I was surprised because I read people say you can walk right after the surgery, but I’m guessing it won’t be easy to walk around with a cast
