I'll stop you here. It is not a really hard surgery when everything goes right. But what will happen when complications arise? The skill and experience of the surgeon will play a huge factor and might be the difference between you staying alive and not.

Quote from: ballsackoffury123 on April 09, 2023, 09:02:11 AMYeah I mean for me a few reason is I can wfh in tech based out of San Francisco. Time zone was a big part for me, I didn’t take a single day off from work except surgery day. Logistically I was able to drive to Las Vegas and find a 3 br airbnb for $2k a month.

I think it really is a person in person basis. Dr. Paley is the more experienced surgeon, no doubt, but it’s not a really hard surgery..I watched full videos on YouTube. It’s a 1.5 hour operation and Dr. D is easily qualified for the job.

TLDR, I don’t think you can go wrong with either surgeons. They’re both top of the line. If you have specific questions on the process of Dr. D and what to expect, I’d be happy to answer it for you.

I think one thing overlooked is that because the amount of volume in Paley, it’s harder for him to for a personal connection with you. Dr D doesn’t have that volume and knows each of his patients by heart. He can chat about any single of his patients, who they are, where they work, and what their journey was like. I met a guy in PT and was chatting about hey this guy “bob” and he was like oh yeah the guy that work at X. Well he’s in a wheelchair because he weighs 200 pounds and you don’t so you should be on your walker more.

Really pros and cons of both, but I think any of the famous 5 or 6 US CLL surgeons, you’re in good hands. Just depends logistically what works best for you.

Thank you! This is extremely helpful color. This seems to be what all of the previous patients of Limbplastx say as well.

I think that's definitely hyperbolic. The odds of dying from this are damn near zero, especially in the US.

Quote from: kamaruusman on April 09, 2023, 06:29:02 AMSo the only reason we'd go with him instead of Paley is to save $20k?

I think when you factor in the cost of staying in West Palm for 3 months, It's closer to a $40K difference. And you are stuck there for 3 months.

You’re right, things can go wrong. Bro I’m not being baised cause I had surgery with dr d and I don’t make any money or get any benefits from you going to either surgeon. But dr. D is way more than qualified to make sure your life is safe, and he doesn’t botch your surgery. I think his CLL cases he’s said he’s done isn’t accurate but this guys a Harvard grad surgeon that actually does like prob 8 surgeries a week (mostly medical spine and orthopedic). Chances of things going wrong in a femur 2.2 from these too US doctors are low, though not impossible, as with any surgery. But Dr D and Asyagg is prob the cheapest of the US surgeons.  Maybe asyagg if ur east coast based and Dr d if you’re west coast

Quote from: ballsackoffury123 on April 09, 2023, 12:58:25 AMI just had my femurs done for precise 2.2 with Dr. D 3 weeks ago. Paid $70k for everything. If you have any questions I’ll try to give an unbiased opinion. I mean he’s not as experienced as Paley in limb lengthening. But he’s doing like 2-3 cases per week, and also a Harvard world class orthopedic surgeon that does regular spine and limb surgeries on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Friday is where he does CLL cases). I’m not sure where the doubt in his credentials comes, but yeah you can’t compare him to Paley for CLL, I don’t think you can compare ANY doctor to Paley in that regards. But that doesn’t mean Dr. D doesn’t know what he’s doing. Guys literally like a to surgeon in general, period.

Just DM'd you

I mean he's a US Surgeon, its really hard to go wrong here.

I Would say paley, assayag, rozburch, possibly mahboubian outrank him

and generally I dislike how much he advertises the surgery but that goes for mahboubian aswell.

The paley beef I think has been patched up  afaik I think they are on good terms.

But yea I think every other US surgeon is better but im almost sure he can do a good enough job in CLL.

What does advertising have to do with anything? He just goes on talk shows because he wants to change the view and perspective people have against limb lengthening, he wants to normalize it because he thinks it has such a bad rep. He literally said that to me.

And now to the second point, I'm just curious, when you say you think all those doctors are better than him, is there a why associated with it? Like I don't really care for defending Dr. D, I'm not getting paid, I'm not his son, I'm just a past patient. But I'm just curious if you're just talking out of your butt or you have specific reasons. I mean this guy went to a more prestigious med school than most of those doctors and his main job is surgery in the spine which is probably one of the most dangerous parts of your body and you have to be super skilled as a surgeon in that department. His cases are 80% actual medical issues and 20% CLL. Idk, I guess it's just interesting to me how he gets such a bad rep on here and people never really give any reason other than the fact he goes on talk show hosts to "advertise" when in reality he just wants to change the stigma society has around this procedure.
