Hi guys I just want to clarify whether it is truth that Dr lee from Korea has 0% non-union rate. He claimed that non-union is caused by bad operation but I doubt the genetic part is also viral speaking of non-union?

I think that Dr. Lee is one of the bests. His PT center is literally THE BEST. And I trust him, he's probably not going to hurt you in a bad way if you choose him for LL.
But still, I think non-union depends more of the genetics rather than the surgeon.
I mean, If the surgeon himself does the worst breaking ever, and inserts the nail in a stupid position: it's possible to have non-union although your genetics are good.
But if you have bad genetics naturally, even though you go with Dr. Lee or Paley, you'll still have non union unfortunately.

edit: non-union and delayed union are different.
There are many (more than 50) cause of non-union , only Insufficient immobilization and
Improperly applied fixation are Dr. faults.

Nowadays the problem I mostly concern is how to detect whether I have bad genetics or not, but I heard that it is impossible to detect at an early stage and only after the lengthening procedure starts will I know it. Even though the chance is slightly or close to zero, but there still a chance.
Sorry I made a mistake haha, it is not cases but cause. How did you find that information by the way, like consulting with your surgeon ?

Also, I'm seriously not sure about this, it has just popped into my mind. I think If you've broken your bone before and it got healed, I guess you won't confront a non-union issue as the procedure happens. But you better ask a doc. or ask more experienced LL forum members. There are a lot of people who know better than I do tbh.

It depends on many factors, for example, lengthening too fast.
