I'm planning on telling just one friend about LL. I'll tell others I had surgery, but for a different reason.

What reason can I give for operating on femurs? Like for tibias you can say "correcting cross legs".

How could tibia or femur surgery correct flat feet? Obviously they'll notice the scars and wonder how it was for flat feet.

Still wondering what excuse to give for femurs. Somebody help meh plz  Excuses to give friends

Quote from: Samuimw on August 28, 2015, 12:37:18 PMHow about telling them that you had an accident that causes your bones to fracture. That is what I have planned to say . My friend will not have an idea.

Hmm, what kind of accident would injure both femur bones? I need to find some minor deformity to make up.

Like I said, for tibia you can say to correct bow legs.

Quote from: G-Man on August 28, 2015, 03:17:51 PMYou could say that you had a small length discrepancy and at the same time they corrected the femur/tibs ratio on both femurs to get the proper 0.8.  You gained a few cm in the process.

I like this. But aren't the discrepancies for tibias only and not femurs? Never heard of it.

It goes either way.

Nice, thanks! This'll work if I don't want to be honest with all of 'em.

Quote from: Cartman on August 29, 2015, 11:39:07 AMDo LL, find a decent excuse and don't care about your friends/relatives opinions: believe me, people are ABSOLUTELY NOT SMART AS THEY THINK! I'm using lifts in my shoes from 2012 (to look at least a few more than 170 cm) and probably nobody have understood my expedient (and inside me I'm laughing at them because they are sooo stupid  Excuses to give friends ). Obviously, I want to try to do LL a day (as everyone in this forum), but believe me, nobody will understand that you have done this surgery.
And even if they will understand... what's the matter?  Excuses to give friends
I'm just worried about money to do that (I need a job, sigh   Excuses to give friends ) and time to recover my phisical abilities.

Because people are very judgemental and I don't want to be pissed off everywhere by people asking about it. I don't like people as it is. Even if I just tell my close friends(which I'm considering), they will try talking me out of it.

Also what about when my friends ask why I'm not around to hang out for so many months? And they might want to visit me, so keeping as close to the truth (femur surgery) with just lying about the purpose seems very convenient.

You got my point. And that's a good excuse Excuses to give friends
I was going to say I put the rods in to correct it, and you can use them to increase height while you're at it.

Quote from: Morgenst. on August 30, 2015, 09:04:45 AMIt amazes me people even have this issue. I've told pretty much all of my friends about my plans and they just wished me luck. Regardless of age nobody near decent should ever say anything discouraging or judgemental about it. That said I've always liked the ski accident excuse. For one it's happened before, guys have broken segments of both femurs or tibias and have had to wear illizarov devices until their break healed so it's likely to be a scenario that raises little questions

I can just see my friends deeming this as unnecessary. I've told one about it and he's somewhat supportive so we'll see.

Also, people talk. Sometime or another.
