Going to make external femur this summer in Egypt

Hi

I did external tibia 2 years ago, I gain 4 cm, and I am going to make external femur this summer in Egypt.

I met a doctor there last summer and It will cost me 4000 USD for setup the external fixator, 700 USD for removing the fixator, and another 800 USD for 6-8 months check-up.

If any one going to do it in Egypt this summer we can share accommidation.

So you gonna lengthen both your femurs at a time with pure externals? Good luck!

You know internal is much more expensive, as well I don't want to live with a pin inside me, as I have read that, some times it's recommended to don't remove it all your life.

Well she plans to lengthen and then nail (LATN). That's not pure external.

Hi Alex,

actually I'm planing also to do surgery in Egypt , but I would like to do ilizarov on Tibia.
my goal is getting 6 cm .

I can probably help because my mother tung Arabic , but I am living in Germany.

if like just send me massage, will do Plan together for the travel accommodation etc..

Hi, Alex. Doing pure external femurs? Well I really don't want to encourage on that. External femurs is a torture and u have to be really prepared for pain and immobility.But once u have made up ur mind for that... Just ask me anything u want to know. And I ll try my best with what I had gone through.
U r doing it in 20days, right? First advice I want to give u is as soon as u come out of the operation room, try to bend ur knees as much as u can, past 90'. It will def hurt like hell but you'll regret it later if u missed that chance. And keep ur knees Rom as far as u can and most of ur time.
