Is nerve injury a very serious concern for internal femur lengthening?

Careful monitoring during lengthening is a must as sometimes these can go unnoticed I guess..Can this be permanent though? Any idea?

Crazy stuff..If detected, they could be treated permanently right? Or even after detection, the issues could be permanent?

I would not go beyond 6 cm personally...
