Suppose a 5'6" male is going to get femur lengthening with Stryde nails. What would be the best weight or BMI at surgery. Here is a BMI calculator.

Patients usually say you will lose weight during the distraction phase, so more body weight will supposedly help. But if you weigh too much, it would be more stress on the Stryde nails, and you'll will have more muscle on your legs which will make lengthening more difficult. Is there any guidelines on recommended body weight or BMI for surgery, or does it really even matter (as long as you are not excessively heavy or light)?
