Most of the money does not go to him.  The hospital, nurses, anesthesiologist, malpractice insurance company, etc. are all taking a big cut of that, especially the annual price increases.  He is only making a few thousand more per surgery than the lower-cost American doctors.

It's to be expected when he is more skilled and has a better reputation.  Compare that to the difference in salaires between the top and bottom lawyers.  Paley's Greed/Price Hiking

As the demand increases a lot of doctors are going to be increasing their prices as well. Combined with how few orthopedic surgeons can see a cosmetic patient through the entire thing safely, CLL is probably not going to trend downwards in expense.

I figure if I ever had the kind of money to go to Paley, I'd probably go back to Dr Parihar and use the extra cash to stay in one of those fancy Mumbai hotels like The Oberoi for the duration of my stay lol.

There is much to be worried about in the Year of Our Lord, 2020. Average height people getting LL to become above average is not one of them.

lol at worship a god that made you small and feel the need to go break your legs to get taller. religious people sure make the best comedians rofl

Quote from: ru on May 01, 2020, 12:37:16 PMthis is a cosmetic surgery.

even if height something that makes you extermely unhappy there are many people who will do this to just enhance their lives a little bit. so many who do this are already happy and just want to solve one thing in their heads.

look around. so many people are doing this being average height just to become taller. Some are older, have created families and made money but just want to do this as a dream to fulfil. How can Paley distinguish between someone who is doing this out of severe mental distress and some one who is doing just for an additional "boost"?

by your logic, should paley stop doing CLL to treat other patients with disabilities faster?

also if you visit Paley centre you will see that CLL is a small practice for them

Hi dreamingtall

I see your pain.  However, you also need to understand other aspects.  Ru actually pointed out many important parts about CLL and Paley.  Actually, CLL is a small part of Paley's institute.  I was so surprised to see so many other patients with so many different reasons.  Patients for CLL are not the major for his team.

That being said, he is trying to balance between real patients who need surgeries to correct all sort of physical problems and patients who want to get CLL.  One efficient way to balance this is the price.  Even with current high price, there are so many people who want to come to his institute for CLL.  As you may know, you need to reserve your date way before and wait for a while, even if you have money now.  So why does he really need to lower the price to offer CLL?  Plus, he is getting old and can't do the many surgeries everyday, although he is still incredibly active on the practice and other health/research related activities.

Anyway, it is not only Paley whose price is so expensive.  Most of american doctors and Dr. Lee in Korea ask similar price for CLL, although Dr. M and Dr. D offer CLL at a little lower price.  You just need to find a doctor whose price is affordable for you.  For example, Dr. Giotikas in Greece could be a choice.  Or, you can choose LON for the lower price.  It is up to you.

So it is pointless to criticize (pretty much wrongly) Dr. Paley about his high price.  Find the best solution for you and work for it!

Good luck!
