Will we be getting a smarter nail that can auto-lengthen or stop  or react based on the surrounding environment using sensing technology? I guess most of the extra stretch of muscle/nerves etc could be prevented that way..Also, there needs to some bone testing methodology to detect whether bone would grow  after surgery if it is not already there..Stryde has revolutionized lengthening  but there is a still a wide room to use technology for preventing complications or providing info beforehand to the patient that he is susceptible for complications so that he/she can avoid surgery..

Paley talked about something just like this in victor's interview. Essentially real-time bio feedback to inform when to lengthen during day, when to stop distraction phase, etc.

Would be nice if it comes though especially as stature lengthening is gaining momentum

Auto lengthening is not going to change basic human physiology lmao. Time for tissues to stretch and grow is the bottleneck, sensing your muscles being "tight" doesn't change anything unless you want a 6 month lengthening phase. Time is what matters. Tissues are the limitation, we know they are tight. We know we lengthen too fast for tissue to catch up already. That is intended for prevention of preconsolidation. Your idea of a smart nail is no better than Stryde.

What a good smart nail would have:

Auto detect callus formation rate, sensing if preconsolidation imminent or slow growth

Sensing if nail doesn't distract (Stryde latest model has this I think) relay to Bluetooth to phone

Sense if weight bearing is being overdone/ amount of pressure placed on the nail and if nail is being pressured/chance of breaking to prevent bent or broken nails

Slow drip of some substance like bmac or tissue growth hastener or bone growth slower if opt into a slow lengthening phase at will (6 month) for soft tissue to catch up as if this was puberty

Auto distract based on time intervals without ERC or magnets

Susceptibility is judged on the basis of pre OP examination and done by a doctor bro....no smart nail can detect tht..it can only detect the rest as u mentioned..like tension stress pressure and auto lengthening mechanism.

In my opinion, the first generation of this nail will have lots of bugs and shortcomings. For example, Stryde is around for so many years but still, it's shipping stopped cuz it has problems. The only advantage I can see from the new nail is the new competition in the market. Hopefully, stryde will be fixed and its prices will be lowered.
