Hello all, I've just finished surgery yesterday, and am now recovering and slowly getting into PT. Noticed there weren't any posts on the UAE Paley institute when I was researching, so I'm happy to share my experience with you guys.
The price, service, and quality is amazing here, and I highly recommened it for anyone considering to do it with Dr Paley.
Currently I have inflammation, both legs are thick and bloated, but nothing out of the ordinary, so far so good. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll keep u guys updated. Will do 8 cm lenghtening
Precice Femur LL with Dr Paley UAE Burjeel medical center
First post on here, hopefully can help someone out

The price is around 80000 USD, everything from transport(all trips basically), 3 days hospital stay+food, PT, is included. In comparison the US branch only offers transport if you live in one of 2 hotels. Service+quality here I believe would be higher here too, as they have much more staff and space.
Quote from: Nagarjuna on October 08, 2025, 07:31:08 PMHey I'd rather have Ebola or Down's Syndrome than being short, but I am still wondering whether you have done your tibias? Unless your femurs are originally very short otherwise it will be way better to firstly lengthen your tibias and then femurs.
Hi I have not lenghtened my tibias, I'm planning to just do femurs. My femurs are indeed shorter relatively, but just curious may i ask why tibias would be preferred as the first option?
Update: Almost 2 weeks since surgery, been lengthening for 6 days. Sleep has not been great, waking up 4-5 times per night in pain. However I fall back asleep quite quickly after applying ice packs. Regarding pain, I still have a little inflammation left in my thighs, and my right knee hurts, feels sore/nerve pain, perhaps because of lenghtening. Hopefully that'll get better.
I'll be able to shower the day after tomorrow, which is something to look forward to. Not going to lie, even though I'm a person who's very productive with a lot to do, doing this is quite lonely at times, and it can be hard. I'm gonna keep going, so wish me the strength to continue.

Hey man. Hope you're doing well. I am also considering doing the surgery in the UAE clinic and I wanted to ask where you're staying and also what your routine kinda looks like with going to PT and etc. I feel like when doing the surgery having some social interactions (preferably with other patients) would do good to keep your spirit up, or at least that's how I felt when I visited Becker's Rehab Clinic in Frankfurt. Anyway, hope everything continues smoothly, don't lose hope and hopefully we can meet in November/December.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm currently staying at a hotel near corniche, but hotel prices are high since it's tourist season, so would recommend doing it during non-peak seasons. The drive is half an hour to PT, I do PT for an hour(or 30 mins of hydrotherapy), mainly strecthing and cycle machine, then head back. So that takes up my morning. It's definitely best to be able to talk and make friends with the other patients while you're here, I'm very fortunate to have another patient in the same hotel as me, so I go to his room to chat every few days. Other than that, I'm able to talk with the other paitents while waiting for PT at the hospital, but interaction time is very limited. So if you have a friend or family going with you that would also help a lot. Looking forward to seeing you too, let me know if you have any other thoughts on your mind
Update: 16 days into lenghtening. Did an X ray 2 days ago and was told everything is good so far. Post op pain has completely subsided, however muscle tightness and soreness from lenghtening is coming in, though not nearly as much as post op pain. Knee soreness has been really bad, causing me to wake up a lot at night, but I figured out that if I stretch my quads a lot, it relieves the pain so much, and it would likely help with lengthening down the road too, so I'm gonna make sure to do that a lot.
It's crazy to think I'm almost a third of the way there (including the 7 days of rest post OP), Thanks to everyone who wished me well, I will continue to keep going and provide further updates.

Quote from: JohnWick89 on November 09, 2025, 08:05:01 AMHey,
I also want to get Femur lengthening done at PALEY UAE . Currently 177cm(Target 7.5cm of lengthening). I was wondering who does the surgery there? Dr. Michael George Uglow or someone from US like Dr Craig Robbins? How is the physiotherapy there?Did they say when Precice Max nail was coming? Wish u the best during recovery phase!
I believe it was mainly Paley doing the surgery, with Robbins and Uglow to assist him. The physio is absolutely amazing, very professional and the hydrotherapy is so beneficial to your movement. Haven't heard anything about the max, though from looking at the past few years it seems likely more delays will occur. Thank you and wish you the best on your journey too! You'll pretty much be 6'1 after lenghtening that's absolutely lifechanging!
Update: Almost done with lengthening! Time goes by fast, seems like only a while ago when I first posted here. At around 7.7cm right now, feel significantly taller, and ready to start my new life. Can't say I've been the most productive during this period, as lonliness and boredom does settle in often, but Im happy to say I still got some work done and was able to call my friends quite a lot.
I'm very grateful for the patients I met here, as well as the amazing staff at the burjeel hospital, who were there to help me at every turn.
Well, I guess that's it, 3 months of lenghtening over, 1-2 months of consolidation to go, but I trust it'll pass by fast back at home. 0 regrets about my decision to do the surgery, and only positive experiences to come.
