I'm 5'4" with a short wingspan of 62 inches. Will my proportions be noticeably strange if I do LL? Would double LL be out of the question?

Depends on how much gain u want. Generally, ur arms start to look short when ur wingspan is less than 95% of ur height. Some people are born with a shorter wingspan than their height and it's not a big deal. It depends also on whether it matters to u how proportionate u look.
