Do any of you guys experience this phenomenon where the amount you can stretch resets after waking up from a good night's sleep? For example, when I wake up, I can't touch my toes from a pike stretch. Later in the day when I do several sets of stretching, I am then able to touch my toes again. I have been consistent with my stretching, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I just don't want to lengthen and have the resets become continually harder to do until they are just simply impossible to achieve after several cms of lengthening.

Your body just needs to be warmed up first, like with all exercise.

Your muscles get stiff when you sleep. You should be very flexible after a hot shower for example, cause they get relaxed.
