Probably not. My energy level and motivation were so low during lengthening that I don't think I could have done it.
I couldn’t. So much dull pain and lack of energy I could barely respond to an email during distraction.
I'll be rather challenging, better not to think LL is a little vacations that you can catch up on reading or study, it's an all day event... 24/7 until distraction ends. sharp pains, dull pains, sleepless nights, won't have much energy to study when you don't have enough sleep on you.
What about after the distraction phase..when I am in consolidation phase..can I study then..I mean at least after 3 or 4 months post OP..btw thank you for your replies.

After distraction it's doable but I still wasn't t 100%. Even after distraction I believe my body was still dedicating a lot of calories and energy to the process of consolidating the bone so I still felt tired such that any intense cognitive thinking was probably at 70 to 80% capacity. It wasn't until I became fully consolidated until recently (not 100% sure as I haven't gotten x rays but I feel as though I am) that mentally I'm back to 100%. For someone who did 8 cm that meant 6 months post op.
Okay I get it..thank you for your reply alchemist.

I did internals at Paleys, two surgeries.
The first few weeks are typically pretty gnarly and it's difficult to get much done. After about a month or so, it is possible to do some work; when I had the second surgery, I worked from home part-time after the first month.
Generally once you're a couple weeks into consolidation, you'll feel (mostly) back to normal, in my experience.
