Has anyone from the UK had any success with private healthcare insurance to help with costs associated with cosmetic limb lengthening?
Perusing through AXA's healthcare leaflets the following stands out:
4.7 > Cosmetic surgery
We do not cover:
• Cosmetic treatment or cosmetic surgery.
• Treatment that is connected to previous cosmetic treatment or cosmetic surgery
My thoughts were if a GP or a specialist determined it would benefit well being and the patient is suffering mental anguish on a daily basis it wouldn't be deemed cosmetic?
I am fully aware the likelihood of this is next to nothing but having read diaries from some of the Yanks on the forum it appears some have managed to get their x rays etc reimbursed/paid for by their insurance companies.
Any brits had similar luck?
Oh bloomin ‘eck, as a Brit that I is, I can say that it is likely the insurance company will throw your 5'8 self into a psych ward and pay for that rather than leg lengthening for true ol' chap. You're a picnic short of a sandwich. Stop being such a big girl's blouse.

Big Daddy is right though.
You are 5'8, for f*cks sake... Just 1 inch shorter than the average Englishman.
Everyone has their own reasons for CLL and so do I.
There is loads of 5"8 guys who have had this surgery performed on this forum I don't see what the problem is?
I have no need or desire for a fast car or a big house but I do have a desire to be content with my body...is that such an awful thing?
There is no problem with your desire, and it is not an awful thing at all.
We are just stating that there is no chance that your healthcare insurance will cover this surgery. You are not a dwarf or have a leg length discrepancy. Best case scenario, they will pay you a shrink. More realistic scenario, they will simply ignore you.
