Hey,
Is there any kind of X ray or image mapping wherein one can get to know how thick/thin, how soft or tense his muscles are?
The reason to have this test would be to estimate how painful the entire LL process will be for you?

When you do X-rays for bones, you can slightly see muscle density also.

Also, you sound like a wuss. You already know that the LL process requires having your legs broken in half. Pain is an afterthought, you could die instead.
