Agreed with Body Builder! Anyone who does more than 8+ cm are risking their health for minimum gain in height. They limited the precice nail to 8 cm for safety reasons. Dr Betz / Becker are idiots for overlengthening almost every single patient they have. Sure they might be fine the in the short term but after 10 years there joints are constantly under way to much stress, which could lead to early arthisis or joint stifness according to DR Birkholtz, which cares a lot about patients safety. Espicially if you do 12 cm on femurs... Even if you're one out of many who is fine with 12 cm on femurs, your propertions will look absolutely terrible and it will be extremely noticeable that you have done the surgery...
at 165cm what should my realistic goal be in LLS?
Proportions don't matter
If you do 12 cm they do. Not only will it most likely feel strange to walk, but it will look stupid.
165 is a good/decent height. You need not do anything as well
Talking from experience 165 cm is not a terrible height but a pretty bad one. Your basically the same height as most 10-13 year old boys, and the same height as most women. So yeah could be worse but far from perfect. Once you hit above 173 / 5'8 You have gotten yourself a height that ain't short and within the average zone.

Ya I was thinking about what starting height getting 8cm would have the biggest positive change on. I’d say if you were short and then went to average it would be a tremendous positive change vs average to above average or above average to tall. From the research I’ve done on height and it’s implications being tall rather than average height has less of a positive impact than being short rather than average has a negative one (if that makes sense). So going from 5’5 to 5’8 or 5’6 to 5’9 is probably the biggest 8cm benefit there is.

I just wanted to see how this forum would react to this lol. But I agree with other folks here. Although I myself am 167 and I am very unhappy with my height. I just HATE the rehabilitation time of this procedure... Do not give a hoot about complications, proportions, money etc. tbh

I agree, I've had some luck with the ladies even very attractive ones. I'm in shape, handsome face and dress nice but being 5'5 makes my dating pool very small which is hard for me, someone who always tries to shoot for the hotter girls. I've never had a relationship last more than 2 months, my last one was with a hot 5'8 girl and I feel my height dysphoria was too much. I'm 25 now and I've been insecure about my height for 10 years it's not going to go away so I may as well look into solutions. If I get to 173 I can be 178 with lifts on occassions too.
