Nail Removal Surgery +39 Months

Another year has passed, and I'm at >4.5 years post-surgery and >3 years post-removal now. I was cleaning up some bookmarks and randomly decided to check to see if the forum was back up and it is so I thought I'd make a quick update! However.. I don't really have anything important to update

I still play all my favorite sports, go to the gym 2-3 days a week, and I'm in great shape. I really like my figure in the mirror (sorry lol) and my proportions - having longer legs rocks. My primary care doc says I'm healthy and I don't have any lingering issues from LL. My career is going really well and the $100k I dropped on LL only feels like a blip in the past now. My relationship is going well (I'll be married soon!) and my social life is awesome.

The only annoying thing I can think of is that my scars haven't faded at all, but I think I've finally come to accept it. Recently I was hanging out on the beach with friends and forgot to cover my knee-area scars up. A few people might have seen them close up but no one said anything (or probably didn't notice) which I was pretty happy about. Maybe I can be less self-conscious about it and let my guard down a little.

Anyway, I know most people abandon their journals and stop posting and we assume that the worst has happened to them. But based on my own experience, I think they just moved on and are living a normal life now. If you went to a good doctor I think the default assumption should be recovering and moving on and not thinking about this unless something reminds you of it. I'm really happy where I'm at right now and I wouldn't get a second surgery even if someone paid me $100k to do it
