Quote from: Stryde2021 on February 09, 2021, 09:57:56 PMwhere's this "cancer" thing coming from?  The European notice merely says that "biological endpoints" for carcinogenicity "have failed to be considered."  That's a far cry from affirmatively saying they might be cancerous.  For all we know, carcinogenicity endpoints were not assessed  because there has never been any reason to believe cancer is even remotely in the cards.

People are blowing this out of proportion lol. Of course, it is concerning that they skipped tests, it's not something to take lightly. But claiming that it causes cancer is just bonkers, as of today

All Precise devices were recalled, the vast majority used for non-cosmetic purposes.  Publicizing this wouldn't be outing LLers.

Ha good points lads. like it or not Dr. Kevin ain't gonna stop reaching out to all media outlets out there. paparazzi outlets to business news, hes got em all covered. lmao sadly the comments on all those websites never improve best place to follow the nuvasive mess?

And yeah cosmetic leg length is a tiny portion of nuvasive's business (we're the only ones who stake both our legs tho lol). so media will not have a reason to target just us. But there is no forum for single leg cases. if I reach out to media it will have to be with this forum which is all cosmetic.

I know some of you think Im blowing this out of proportion but a billion $ medical company suddenly decides to withdraw nails all over the world? I think thats a pretty major thing. They will do anything to come back to them market asap. $$$$ is what matters to them.

We know about Derbibashad's practices very well, he is the biggest LL merchant in the world right now.
And you promote a salesman.

Anyway, ask your merchamt doctor about nuvasive nails as you appreciate him that much, you don't need to worry.

I would highly recommend not taking this to the media. When the nails are reinstated, the last thing us future patients want is for them to take them off the market again due to negative media attention. The media will not help solve these issues but only contribute further to the mockery of short men.

seriously dude you want the nails released asap no matter what? even without a thorough investigation? I understand privacy even I want it. but to be so desperate that you dont even care about safety? if there is ANY reason for nuvasive to take them off the market again, they should. They are $$$$$ making company. They will always find reasons to not take it off the market.

you may dislike his marketing but hes a top class doctor. When he does the surgery he does it with concentration. He doesnt take insta selfies. He also does good followups.

if for some reason you cant afford him or dont live near him, Im sorry. But why so much hate? its his profession. If hes proud of it why shouldnt he advertise it? In fact himself being quite short hes putting himself in an awkward position while marketing it. But its his choice.

If you became a software programmer and you werent allowed to advertise your web development skills and make your family proud is it fair?

I never said I don't care about safety, but these concerns that have been brought up are just that - concerns due to needing more testing. There is no confirmed evidence that these devices cause cancer or cause any serious long-term issues. Stryde has been used for almost 3 years with mostly terrific results and recovery so if they can confirm that additional testing has been done and there is no evidence of long-term issues then I would 100% undergo the procedure with stryde. I don't think they need to do a full-blown drawn out investigation, they just need to run additional tests that they didn't do before.

The alternatives to stryde are not great - fitbone, Betzbone, externals etc. I would rather take my chances with theoretical danger than use a nail that I know has a high chance of causing complications.

Even knowing what Stryde can do with the bony leakage additional growth on the sides of the nail, I would still do Stryde in a heartbeat over any  zBone or BuichetNail
