If you want to make a lengthening from the femur.
Which one would you prefer? 7cm or 8cm? and why?

Many people say the ideal is 7cm.

What kind of problems can happen after 7? What are the differences between them?

(I haven't yet decided on this risk for +1 cm)

Keep in mind that complications are different for every person, while it is good to have a goal I would recommend you rather have a range of goals (like 7 - Femur 7cm vs 8cm and decide when the time comes. If you are facing complications and your doctor recommends you to stop at 7 I would stop at 7. if you are a good case and everything goes smooth go to 8. In my opinion 8cm on femur is a reasonable goal that most people should be able to achieve.

Edit: that emoji is supposed to be 8 and ). *facepalm*

7.2 cms or something at max, due to losing a certain amount (under a cm, in most cases under a half cm). I'd shoot for the full 5'11 if my body could resist.

Thanks.

Got it, make first 7 cm then 8 cm if the body allows.

The height loss from femur curvature is minimal. Like a mm at 8cm. So insignificant. If you are a mm under 5‘11 you are still 5‘11. it doesn‘t change a thing.

It's a trade off like everything in LL. Long term recovery will be better in people who do lesser amounts however they will obviously have less height. It's up to the individual what is more important to them.

Well-said! That's what everyone should do!

I understand everyone does have a certain amount of lengthening in their mind, but in real life; you might not even be able to reach half of it unfortunately. So it is the best to listen to your body and lengthen as much as it allows even if it's only 3 cms. I have a certain plan too, but if i can't reach it i won't be disappointed.

I wish you the best!
