It's been over a year since my G-nail surgery and I am fully consolidated. In my experience, I am still no where near full recovery. By full recovery, I mean being able to do 90% of everything I was able to do before surgery without assistance. I am able to walk well, but I still can't climb stairs well. Going up stairs is hard but not too hard. Going down stairs is very hard and looks obviously awkward to other people. I am definitely not able to run well.
Weirdest problem is that I still sometimes hear click noises. Every single day I hear multiple noticeably loud click that comes from the nail. This sound is not normal leg popping noises that occur to normal people. This is a clicking sound that you hear from the nail. But I think this is probably a 'fake click' since X-rays looks normal. Not sure if other G-nail veterans experienced this.
For other weight-bearing internal femur veterans, is your experience similar to mine where you weren't able to go down stairs perfectly even over a year after surgery? Or was your recovery much faster?
