This is where my limb lengthening journey begins. I will be continuously describing my experience and progress in this thread.

Dec 30, 2020:

  • Had an appointment with Dr. Kozyra at Trigon Orthopedia in Warsaw, Poland. Discussed what seemed to be all the details related to this surgery. The soonest I will be able to undergo it is in mid January 2021.
  • Took an X-ray of my lower extremities; will pick it up on Jan 4, 2021
  • Will have to do some quite extensive blood work 7 days prior to the surgery

For now I have decided to lengthen my tibias for by 6-7 cm using an external device (Orthofix LRS Advanced - http://web.orthofix.com/Products/Pages/LRS-ADVanced.aspx)

Based on the x-ray of my lower extremities, I qualify for the LL surgery. There are no contraindications. It will most likely take place on Jan 26 or Jan 28, 2021.

I am planning to lengthen my tibias by 7 cm.

I think I've just changed my mind. Will fly to Turkey and do LON instead.

Quote from: ghkid2019 on January 13, 2021, 06:09:44 AMgood choice lol that was fast.... youll cut the time in half in exfix since nail helps weight bear

just to make sure.. LON tibias right?

My point exactly. I would save lots of time, be able to walk, have much smaller fixators attached to my tibias and would not risk a non union. Would even save some $.

Yes, LON tibias.

What is your opinion about Dr. Halil Buldu? There seems to be more positive feedback from his patients.

Quote from: Apollo676 on January 13, 2021, 08:18:44 PMWell we have several diaries on him on the forum, the one from Sunshine is imo the best non-biased,he did Precise -2 on his femurs,at home in the US,and it went smoothly, good recover, and he said Dr Buldu was very responsive during all the process and very professional,he gained i think, from 173 to 181cm
Another one is Meck,he made an impressive achievement,at 17.5cm,from 163cm to 180/181cm,both LON on femurs and tibias,cross-lenghtning,that's alarming kinda, because the safe spot for femurs and tibias are 8cm and 5/6cm respectively, the fact that the doctor allows his patients to go above is a bit concerning tbh
They have an instagram,livelifetaller :

https://www.instagram.com/livelifetaller/

A member is actually doing LON femurs with Dr Buldu right now check his diary :
http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=66007.0

Overall, mostly good feedback, but, not everyone is coming to this forum to make a diary, problem is,two of his patients actually turned employees for him,Frederico and Meck,to make promotion, that's a bit odd,and the problem is that he is advocating for LON method on femurs which seems to be quite hard on femurs, not so much on tibias

Thanks for sharing all this useful info. I was about to give Wannabetaller.com a try but then read a few very distressing stories and started having second thoughts...

If you were to choose between Dr. Yuksel Yurttash (Wannabetaller.com) and Dr. Halil Buldu (Livelifetaller.com), would you choose the latter?
