For me the scarring is the main drawback of the surgery so for me it’s a big deal. I fall into the category of ‘very concerned about scars’ - can you explain how/why internal tibias might be the way to go?

With LON you have Ilizarov frames on your legs that are attached to the tibias via a combo of pins and wires around the knees and ankles, in addition to the nail inserted through the knee. When the frames are removed you'll have pinhole scars and incision scars from nail insertion that will remain, though scar revision can be done to lighten them or remove the indentations.
With internals, the only scars you should have are the incisions where the nail is inserted through.
No I meant why do you say internal tibias has less scarring than internal femurs? I obviously know internals is better than externals, but why internal tibias have less scarring than internal femurs?
