Quote from: Rebirth22 on March 16, 2026, 09:58:24 AMAs for now I still havent received clearance to walk. The last xray was said to have good bone growth, but is still far from walking stage.

It has been a month since, and I'll be doing another x ray this week. It has been quite tiring not being able to walk, but with my family and friends, I'm living good given the circumstances. Hopefully I'll be able to get the clearance after this xray. God bless.

I am happy you respect the mandatory time required for Precice. Nobody should stand-up before the 6 months from femur surgery day !... I stayed 6 months in the wheelchair like a good boy, because i didnt want to bend and damage my nails and screws. But i was walking normally in a very salted and warm water pool, just to prepare my bones and joints for 2 months before, twice a day, so i was prepared for the first stand-up. It was tough and painful... but this is the best way to prepare !
And my decision was a bless for me, because i found months later that my Precice nails were re-used many times by my sh-itty doctor, was extra sterilized with very high temperature so can kill all bacterias, which weakened the metal strength and prone to bend much easier than a one time use nail !
If you have read my diary, you know that my left femur nail bent by itself at only 40 mm lengthening and they had to replace it right away... with another re-used one, of course !

NO, the Precice, Fitbone and Betzbone are not re-usable !... its a crime if you do that !
Why ?... because they are enclosed telescopic nails where bacterias develop a lot and is very hard to kill them inside the mechanism.
Thats why in Turkey Gokhan gave me to take one whole month antibiotics... just to be sure I will not get infected from his re-used Precice nail !!
But, in normal condition with new Precice, you take antibiotic only for 2-3 days.

You can reuse only LON, External frames and Gnail

Quote from: gghoho on March 17, 2026, 09:50:18 AMHello, if it's convenient, could you share your pain level throughout the process? The more specific the better, as I'm currently researching this myself, but I'm particularly concerned about the pain.
Pain wasn't terrible, around 5-6/10 first few weeks, then averaging 3-4 for the rest. Worst part is sleeping, it isn't very painful, but enough to keep you awake. It's tough, but not impossible for sure.

6 and half month post op update: ahhh, where to start. I know I said a month ago I should be ready to walk soon, but unfortunately my bone was just not healed enough to bear that much weight. I realize now it is likely due to the lack of protein I have been consuming, because I am quite fit and usually recover very quickly. I have began eating much more protein this month, and I feel like my bones are growing more (feeling a buldge in my leg, likely the callus).

Quite unfortunate it is taking this long, but oh well, what can one do. My next checkup is on May 1st, and I am praying that I will get the clearance then. Crazy how long it has been, but I will be strong and continue till the end.
