Never said I think I stunted my growth, which is really hard unless you are dirt poor. Just wishful thinking that if I ate meat and had a more optimal diet I would maybe end up fractionally taller (same as my dad or something like that) which as you said does not count as stunting your growth. Of course HGH is not natural and I did not count that as "stunting my growth" but I still had the possibility of having a small effect if I spotted it earlier.
Someone entering late teens will be above target height. If everything is fine for the person, there will be an increase in height each year before entering puberty and there will be a jump in puberty.

Well said.
Yea honestly all of us wish we pushed our parents to go to endocrinologist and nag the doctor to prescribe hgh, especially if we are under 170cm in a western country, as they start to prescribe for idiopathic short stature (short bcuz of genetics, not bcuz of hgh deficiency) Unfortunately we can't go back to the past so it's rly toxic for me to keep reminding me of that.
I actually asked my parents why they didn't push the doctor to monitor my growth more and they legitimately didn't know that HGH existed, so they feel remorseful and guilty. Obviously not their fault, HGH is still pretty sci-fi if you think about it, it's crazy such a drug exist and it definitely has saved the self esteems of thousands of would-be short kids that are now average or almost average because of this wonder drug.
When I have a child, I will ensure to monitor their growth. I want them to be at least average, or slightly under. If the doctor doesnt recommends HGH and my kid is like 6th percentile just above the "cutoff" for insurance, I'm still getting the kid HGH. Obviously height insecurities shouldn't be forced into my kid especially if they aren't upset about it, but I will give him the treatment because there's probably a high chance of neurosis developing once you turn into an adult, and at that point it's too late. If I have a daughter and she truly doesn't mind it, then it's probably fine. For my son tho we will have conversations about this and maybe he will reject it and I'll have to respect it. Or he'll be like the thousands of kids who were retroactively thankful their parents did this instead of refusing it because "muh needles". Whatever it is, I just want them to be happy.
And hgh risk/reward is so lopsided in favor of reward. People bitchin about like a 0.001% increased chance of cancer for the 2 or 3 years while on HGH, and basically gatekeep poor kids from feeling normal. fk those people and those doctors that don't prescribe to short kids who suffer
I went to an endo over a year ago (and two more later) when I was 16 and they were remarkably useless, she outright denied I was short (I measured 166.5 / 5ft 5.5 there so either I grew or a mismeasurement - probably the latter) and recommended me a psychiatrist and all of them refused it and said I would grow 1 cm max and probably nothing with my bone age of 17 (now 18 and change) and have horrible joint problems and blah balh blah

Man that sucks. Maybe it would've actually gave you a cm, but still, it's really bad they pick and choose based on statistics. Like a 5th percentile height kid gets this approved and then a 7th percentile kid gets hgh rejected because he's too tall. like that infuriates me.
Tell that kid whos 5'2 that "you're short enough to get HGH!" And then tell that 5'3 kid that "oh sorry, you're above the cutoff. Tough luck in this life. Try next reincarnation." Arbitrary like that. Honestly if the kid is having self esteem because of height there's no reason not to give em it.
People say studies show in NORMAL kids that prescribing hgh to non deficient kids only results in 3 inches more.
Bro, 5'5 vs 5'8 is a HUGE difference. They act like those 3 extra inches won't change someone's life?
fking gatekeepin lookin ass's bitchess
It’s mostly genetic. But I guess a healthy and nutritious diet during childhood helps a lot.
My dad: 163cm
My mom: 160cm
Me (female): 155cm
My friend’s dad: 165cm
Her mom: 160cm
Her: 166cm !!!
If each person's health status and hormone values are normal, it is mostly genetic. However, diet and sleep patterns, sports, age in adolescence, depression affect sleep patterns, but yes, mostly genetic
No doubt.I think it's genetic .
My dad:162cm or so
My mum:158cm.
Me:162cm-163cm

Your mum isn't that short. Only 4-5cm shorter than you? Most men tower over their mothers by at least 10cm or more.
