From keeping up with all the stryde diaries, it seems majority of guys with a few exceptions, who lengthened more than 7cm seem to be suffering from lomger term nerve pain. I personally would also love to lengthen 8cm later this year, but recovery is also important for me so I will opt for 7cm. Any more height= a second tibias operation will be a safe 5cm.
Is nerve injury a very serious concern for internal femur lengthening?

I think you are correct; also most patients I spoke with at Paley had some level of nerve issues (from slight to moderate/severe) except for only 2 patients.

My shin numbness started at 3.5cm. Even if yours doesn't start until later on in the distraction phase, once you have it, it probably won't go away for a while. I highly doubt that shin numbness will end up being a determining factor for whether you decide to go to 8cm or not. Once you start the act of lengthening your thought process will be very different than pre-LL. I also think only the very determined would consider going for a second surgery after suffering through the first one. Also, don't forget that both femur and tibia lengthening are stretching the same nerve, so even if you do less on femurs and do tibias later, it's ultimately still the same sciatic nerve getting stretched beyond it's limits.
I would not go beyond 6 cm personally...
When one of your nerves is cut or damaged, it will try to repair itself. The nerve fibres shrink back and 'rest' for about a month, then they begin to grow again. Axons will regenerate about 1mm per day. The extent to which your nerve will recover is different for everyone. Nerve healing can take months and longer than a year even so just keep that in mind. If you do want a more detailed answer regarding nerve injury than consult a doctor because we only have general knowledge on the forum.

Do you have a source for this info? I'm interested in reading more about this
Anything more than 1.0mm a day for extended periods of tiempo is serious risk of nerve injury. 1.5mm total or more a day like how they do it in Soviet Russia is asking for nerve injury like Android cross lengthening. No, you cannot "willpower" you're way out of nerve damage from fast lengthening

He is right. You would have to be a buffoon to manage and damage your nerves. Nerve damage pain is excruciating and you see it coming a mile off. I increased to 1.25mm at one point for only 3 days and I could feel that the nerves were hating it so I stopped and went back to 1mm. You listen to your body and you will succeed without these complications. There are unavoidable complications at stake too but nerve damage is something that you can see coming if you listen to your body well. Nerve pain becoming really bad? just take a break and continue later, and so on.
That is the reason I completely disregarded Russia before coming to Turkey. What clown lengthens 1.5mm per day, and you also had a few others reporting upwards of 2mm per day, ridiculous.
