Why? Why are many people so judgmental towards others who want to change their appearance like plastic surgery or LL?
Why do average people think LL is that insane?
They have no idea how it's be like mocked constantly about your height since your childhood..
It's such a major surgery. Usually elective/cosmetic ones aren't so drastic. That's part of it.
…because you’re breaking your legs in half and inserting metal rods in a procedure that will take over a year to be completely over. That said - Im still doing it.
When people hear about this surgery and all it takes to get it done they automatically compare it to other cosmetic surgeries and this ends up being one of the most extreme. Also I think a lot of them might be out of touch with how short people feel, even other short people themselves. So they can’t imagine ever doing this surgery.
its an insane surgery. doesn't make it a bad option and it still may be the best option. but it is pretty insane. however it should be accepted. I feel like there are many people who will be fine with transgender people but make fun of people getting this surgery when really they are closely related conditions. transgender people are our brothers and sisters in these mental issues. But most people can't think for themselves so will hate on this surgery.

There are various reasons, IMHO, the main reason is that is easier to think "my height has no fix, better to spend my money on a expensive car, expensive house, X-Y-Z expensive expending..." rather than "I will have to put my effort on this, but I can have a body that I like", just like people who avoid to have a healthy lifestyle. There are a lot of intentionality wrong information out there, hoaxes... about this surgery to help that kind of thinking. Envy is another source of hate against this surgery.
Body positive people is not helpful, they say that "wrong bodies don't exist" and they don't accept cosmetic surgery. I agree that nobody has a wrong body, but some people don't like their bodies because their tastes are different than their bodies, so cosmetic surgery is a great option for them, I don't understand why so much hate against cosmetic surgery.
False proud short people is another source of hate against this surgery, I mean people who say that they are very proud of his height, but in reality they don't like it and they want to be taller.
Insane? Not, insane is to live in a body that doesn't fit your soul. If you don't like to be short, being short is almost a like having your body cursed. "Just accept yourself and move on", "just move to a different country (and abandon your family and friends)", "just wear shoe lifts", "just wear this clothes or this hairstyle", "just lie about your height", "just train hard and become stronger"*, "just change your friends", "just hide your height under a expensive car"... doesn't solve the problem, at least for me.
If a journalist is reading me, please, remember that this is not a surgery for men, it's a surgery for people who want to be taller, also, this is NOT and INCEL/Blackpill surgery, maybe some of them are getting it, but is not for them, it's for all people, women, men or other non binary genders. Just for people who don't feel comfortable with their height. Also, this is not a surgery to find a couple, maybe some people get it for that reason, but there are many other reasons, so please, don't say "you are married, you don't need this surgery", because life doesn't end at 30 years old or when you get married.
I'm sorry if my English is not good enough.
* I would like to be tall AND strong, not only strong.
Approving of the surgery would mean acknowledging just how heightist society really is. Especially when you are growing up as a child & teen when you are at your most vulnerable still developing your sense self and your body.
This is like a pandoras box for normies. Because they instinctively know heightism is so fundamental in the core of society that it can never be eliminated. So best not to speak about it. All statistic data backs this up.
It’s a bit like if you try to get help while in an abusive household they’ll yell at you because it will lead to uncomfortable admissions and truths coming out.

some truths are too difficult to admit for most people and are uncomfortable (and no I don't mean any racist or Incel ) so they just choose to ignore them or gaslight anyone who points it out
