It amazes me people even have this issue. I've told pretty much all of my friends about my plans and they just wished me luck. Regardless of age nobody near decent should ever say anything discouraging or judgemental about it. That said I've always liked the ski accident excuse. For one it's happened before, guys have broken segments of both femurs or tibias and have had to wear illizarov devices until their break healed so it's likely to be a scenario that raises little questions

I can just see my friends deeming this as unnecessary. I've told one about it and he's somewhat supportive so we'll see.
